West Pier Brighton Collection (2014)

A community and collaborative project, based on West Pier and the development of the i360;

funded by Arts Council England.

This project involved collaboration, facilitating drop in art workshops on the beach

as well as creating a body of paintings exhibited in the community.

Maria Kuipers is an artist of emotional power.

Her works are intuitively conceived in the tension

between limitation and inner strength, uncovering layers of thought, imagery and symbol

which impact our inner selves.

Using a process of layering, scraping back, reflecting and re-instating,

she creates emotional landscapes of spiritual significance.
